The Southern Artist Herman Ferrell was born and raised in the placid southeastern surroundings of Hammond, Louisiana. His talent in art was apparent at an early age. He spent hours refining the artistic techniques that are his own.

His deep affection for the outdoors, which Mother Nature provides numerous subjects to experience a moment of light in time. That, is the moment of light he wants to capture in his paintings. Which brings forth a comfortable, relaxed feeling, is brought to life and shared with others through his paintings.

Living in a Southern coastal state he became interested in shrimp boats, and other types of boats, fishing boats, sail boats, etc., the older larger wooden shrimp boats he thought of as dinosaurs. One day they too would become extinct. Katrina made these old shrimp boats extinct now.

Herman Ferrell attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he majored in art. His works have received many awards and have been purchased by many collectors throughout the United States.
